How To Use
Polar Blast
- Before you start, check that the bodywork and wheels are cool to the touch and out of direct sunlight.
- Polar Blast can be used at various dilutions depending on the density of foam desired. A good starting point is 100ml product to 500ml water in your foaming bottle. Adjust foam gun settings as required to increase or reduce foam.
- Spray Polar Blast onto the vehicle, starting at the bottom, ensuring all exterior surfaces are covered, including glass and wheels.
- Leave Polar Blast time to dwell and loosen dirt for up to 10 minutes, although do not allow it to dry on.
- Finally, rinse thoroughly from the bottom up.
Polar Wash
- Before you start, check that the bodywork and wheels are cool to the touch and out of direct sunlight.
- We recommend a pre-wash with Polar Blast to gently loosen dirt. If not, rinse first with water to loosen heavy contamination.
- Polar Wash can be used at various dilutions depending on the density of foam desired. However, we would not recommend using a dilution stronger than 50:50. Adjust foam gun settings as required to increase or reduce foam. 250ml of mixed solution should be enough to cover an average sized car.
- Spray Polar Wash onto the vehicle, starting at the bottom, ensuring all exterior surfaces are covered, including glass and wheels.
- The cleaner will begin to loosen dirt on all surfaces. For the most thorough clean we recommend agitating the foam with a sponge or wash mitt.
- Rinse thoroughly from the bottom up and dry.
Polar Wash is not suitable for use on soft top convertibles.
Top Tip – Follow with Polar Seal for a protective, hydrophobic coating
Polar Seal
- Before you start, check that the bodywork and wheels are cool to the touch and out of direct sunlight.
- We recommend starting with a snow foam like Polar Blast to gently loosen dirt, and follow with Polar Wash to remove any dirt or contamination on your paintwork.
- Only a small amount of Polar Seal is required. Pour no more than 40ml (four capfuls) into your foam bottle and then add at least 200ml of water. This should be all the finished solution required to cover your vehicle. There is no benefit in using any more than 40ml as over application can compromise the finish.
- Spray Polar Seal onto the clean, wet vehicle, ensuring all exterior surfaces are covered, although avoid direct application to the windscreen.
- Thoroughly rinse and dry your car to reveal a high-gloss finish that is protected with a hydrophobic coating. The car must be dried with a cloth and not allowed to air dry as water spotting may occur.
- Use Autoglym Fast Glass to clean the windscreen and wiper blades to ensure no smearing occurs.
We do not recommend applying more than once a month.
Polar Seal is not suitable for use on soft top convertibles.
Do not store diluted product. Please rinse foam bottle and pressure washer lance after use.
Top Tip – For the optimum finish, dry with the Autoglym InstaDry cloth.
Questions - Polar Blast
What is Polar Blast?
Polar Blast is a snow foam that can be applied using a pressure washer or foam gun. It covers the vehicle in a rich blanket of foam that clings to paintwork to gently loosen dirt and heavy soiling prior to shampooing. This reduces the risk of scratches and swirl marks caused by a sponge or wash mitt moving over heavy contamination. Polar Blast can be used instead of a shampoo if the vehicle isn't heavily soiled, just ensure you rinse the vehicle with water first to remove the top layer of dirt.
Is Polar Blast pH Neutral?
Yes, it is pH neutral and will therefore not remove wax.
Do I use Polar Blast instead of shampoo?
Polar Blast has been primarily formulated as a new pre-wash product. By using it in advance of your regular Autoglym shampoo you will loosen heavy soiling and contaminants and begin to dissolve traffic film. This will significantly reduce the risk of contamination scratching your paintwork when you agitate the shampoo foam with a sponge or wash mitt. We would only recommend its use in place of a shampoo if your paintwork has very light soiling. In these circumstances please ensure you rinse the vehicle first to remove any heavier contamination. Polar Blast has been formulated to go through a pressure Washer and we would not recommend using from a bucket.
Should I agitate the foam generated by Polar Blast?
We would not recommend agitation as part of a pre-wash process. Allow the product to dwell on the paintwork for up to 10 minutes. This will allow Polar Blast to safely soften and loosen soiling, before rinsing with your pressure washer. If your vehicle only has very light soiling and you are using in place of shampoo. Please rinse vehicle first before applying Polar Blast. You can either allow to dwell and rinse without agitation or agitate with a sponge or wash mitt prior to rinsing.
What is the recommended Dilution rate for Polar Blast?
This really is dependent on several factors including the level of foam you would like to achieve, the settings of your pressure washer and the hardness of water in your area. In summary the product has been developed to work neat through to 1part Polar Blast to 10 parts water. We have been very happy with the product performance diluted at 1:5. Pre dilute to make approx. ½ litre of diluted solution and fill the bottle of your foam gun.
Can I use this product in a bucket and not a pressure Washer?
Polar Blast has been designed and formulated for use through a foam gun attached to a pressure washer. We do not recommend using this product in a bucket.
Questions - Polar Wash
What is Polar Wash?
It is a shampoo designed specifically for use in a pressure washer. It is intended to be the wash element (second stage) of the three-stage Polar range process. It is preceded by the prewash – Polar Blast and followed by a coating - Polar Seal.
How is Polar Wash different from Pressure Wash?
Polar Wash replaces Pressure Wash, our previous pressure washer shampoo. The formulation has been reformulated and is stronger than its predecessor.
How is Polar Wash different to Polar Blast?
Polar Blast is a Pre-Wash product that aids the removal of heavy dirt from the paintwork. It gently loosens and softens contaminants and does not require agitation. Polar Wash is the next stage of the process – the shampoo. It has more cleaning power that can get to work on removing traffic film once Polar Blast has removed the larger particles of contamination.
Is Polar Wash pH neutral?
No it isn’t. However it will not remove Extra Gloss Protection, Waxes or sealants; such as LifeShine.
Can Polar Wash be used neat or does it need to be diluted?
Yes it can be used neat. However we would recommend a 50:50 dilution rate for the best results. It is up to the user to find a dilution the best works for them.
Can Polar Wash be added to the reservoir in my Jet Wash?
Yes. However, it is worth highlighting that the level of foam will be dependent on the performance and flow rates of the pressure washer and water hardness. The 50:50 product/water mix advised for a bottle foamer is also a good starting point for a reservoir.
Is Polar Wash High Foaming?
Yes, it is a high foaming product that allows the user to see where they have agitated the product to minimise chances of ‘missing a bit’. However, although this product has greater cleaning power, its foam does not have the density and cling time of our pre-wash product - Polar Blast.
Is Polar Wash a touchless wash shampoo?
It can perform a touchless clean on very lightly soiled and well maintained vehicles. However, for stubborn dirt and traffic film we advise agitation with a wash mitt or sponge.
Does Polar Wash need to be used through a pressure washer?
Polar Wash has been designed specifically for use through a pressure washer. We would recommend our other shampoos for hand washing methods.
Is a foaming lance required to use Polar Wash?
We would strongly recommend the use of a foaming lance or foamer bottle in conjunction with a pressure washer to create the optimum foam levels.
What are the usage instructions for Polar Wash?

Questions - Polar Seal
What is Polar Seal?
It is a coating designed specifically for use in a pressure washer. It is the coating element (third and final stage) of the three-stage Polar range process. It is preceded by the prewash – Polar Blast and shampoo - Polar Wash.
Is Polar Seal wax safe?
Polar Seal is wax safe and we would recommend that if there is wax on the paintwork that Polar Seal is used as a top up. There is no need to remove the wax or other protection before applying Polar Seal.
Is Polar Seal pH Neutral?
Polar Seal is pH Neutral and can be used on full exterior of the vehicle, avoiding the windscreen.
Do I use Polar Seal instead of a wax?
Polar Seal is a durable hydrophobic coating. However, it does not offer the same long-term protection as Ultra High Definition Wax or Extra Gloss Protection.
Should I agitate the foam once I have applied Polar Seal?
No, it is not necessary. The vehicle should be clean before applying Polar Seal, ideally with Polar Blast and Polar Wash. Polar Seal should be sprayed over all exterior surfaces apart from the windscreen and then rinsed off immediately.
What is the recommended Dilution rate for Polar Seal?
We would strongly recommend not using more than 40ml Polar Seal and 200ml water. Over use may cause white spotting and significantly compromise the effectiveness of Polar Seal. Using more product will not improve the depth of shine or increase its durability.
Why is it not recommended to use on the windscreen?
Polar Seal contains silicones, which in some cases, can create smears once wiper blades are used on the windscreen. We would recommend cleaning your windscreen after you have applied Polar Seal to the rest of your car as part of your car cleaning process.
How long should I leave Polar Seal on my paintwork?
It is important that Polar Seal does not dry on to the surface of the vehicle. Once the car has been coated it should be rinsed immediately.
Can Polar Seal be used on my alloys and exterior plastics?
Yes, apart from the front windscreen we would recommend Polar Seal can be used on all exterior surfaces.
Is it ok to leave Polar Seal in my foamer bottle?
We would recommend that only the product needed for a single application is used. We also recommend that the foamer bottle is rinsed thoroughly after use.
How frequently do I need to apply Polar Seal?
There is no benefit to building layers of Polar Seal. We would only recommend reapplication once water beading has ceased. We certainly do not recommend application more than once a month.
